The Department of Education announced early today July 26, 2011, that classes from pre-school, elementary and high school (public or private), in region 1, 3, 5 are suspended as the tropical depression "Juaning" heaped on to a typhoon.
Dep Ed regional director Elena Ruiz in NCR(National Captial Region) stated classes in the afternoon and evening from elementary to high school are also suspended. She also added students in the morning classes who have already gone to school are strongly advised to go home immediately and for respective school authorities to cancel further classes.
Meanwhile, DOST also stated that heavier rains should be expected to pour in Metro Manila in the afternoon.
